Hello everyone!! Our task was digital storytelling this time. This was a group work. We decided to work as a trio this time. Buğra, Yonca and Me were together. We decided to create a guide on how to “cook a noodle with vegetables”. We decided to distribute our missions. Yonca took on the job of giving us footage and cooking. I was the one who did the voiceover. Finally, Buğra was our editor. Since I was the one doing the voiceover, I thought I should pick the music too :) I found a royalty-free background track that would go well with my voice.
Once our footage was shot, the separate videos were put
together accordingly. I, then recorded my voice to fit with the recipe. My voice,
the background music and the video were put together too and we finally had our
“how to?” recipe ready.
To be honest, I feel like this task is hard to create and
manage. You need very good knowledge of computer programs and a powerful
computer to handle those editor programs. It is a good way to be creative and
it would certainly help with language learning but not in a very efficient way,
I think. It might be fun to watch the end results in the classroom but all in
all, in my opinion, this is a very hard task to do. In the future, I wouldn’t
assign anything like this to my students.
