Hi everyone and welcome!!
Me and my partner Yonca Ertekin created a worksheet as per our assignment. Our target audience was prep
class. We focused on the usage of the time expressions “already/just/yet”. We
picked this subject since we thought the students might struggle with it.
By using the
worksheet we created, students will be able to realize whether they lack
knowledge regarding this topic, then search the corpus for more examples. Later
on, they’re going to be testing their knowledge by explaining and summarizing
what they’ve discovered. At the final step, they will be able to practice and
test their knowledge further. They will be able to use already/just/yet in
sentences properly, noticing the subtle differences and picking the expressions
accordingly.
The process of
design was a bit problematic for us since we encountered a few difficulties
such as problems with sharing the draft document and connection issues
particularly because of the weather. Implementing our activities to Canva was
fun but a bit difficult since we had no idea how to use the worksheet making
section. After deciding on the template, we adjusted the pages accordingly. Adding
tables and editing the font was difficult at first but we figured it out
together. Doing this as a pair was definitely more fun and made our job easier.
If our worksheet
were to be used in class, the only problems that might arise could come from
the corpus use section. We gave instructions but if time and access to
technology is limited, and technology literacy skills are insufficient, students
can encounter difficulties. The other exercises are traditional, fun and easy
enough to do.
This task was interesting
and challenged our creativity as well as technology skills. Nevertheless, it
was great and satisfying to see the end product.
Here is our worksheet!
