The Flipped Classroom Video Task

 Hello everyone!!

Our task for this week was the creation of a flipped classroom video. In the flipped classroom, students switch things up: they learn online and save class time for group work. For language classes, this means more active participation in class, but it does need technology and self-drive for it to really work. We were required to prepare a video that students could watch during free time, fitting for the self-study part of the flipped approach. Me and my partner Yonca Ertekin had fun picking the template over Canva. We struggled a bit on deciding which unit to try to pick and teach but managed to finalize our decision.

Finding a video template fitting with our topic was difficult so we opted to pick a presentation template and managed to make it work, downloading it in the mp4 format. We did this task side by side so modifying was easy. After finding and creating a proper story that included all the words in the unit, we decided to divide the story in order and as equally as possible. Recording our voice on one mobile, we added the voice file to Canva directly and edited the timing of each slide. It was much easier than we expected. We also prepared a little quiz over Wordwall after the storytelling was done. Here is the quiz and our video together! Don’t forget to check dear Yonca’s blog as well.

 Goodbye 😊
